Onsen Haitojo / Ashiyu (foot bath) |

Within Katayamazu Onsen, there is a "haitoujo," the point where water from the hot spring is distributed to various hotels and other locations. In a building styled after Heian palaces, an image of Yakushi Nyorai, the Buddhist divinity that is considered to be the protector of the onsen, is enshrined. Inside the Sunahase Park, there is an ashiyu (foot bath) called "Engawa," where anyone can visit and dip their feet in the soothing waters. |

Ukimidou and the Great Fountain - "Uki-uki Benten" |

The Ukimidou (floating temple) is dedicated to the goddess Benzaiten and the dragon god. When it was completed, a contest was held to name it, and “Uki-uki Benten" was chosen from the approximately 10,000 entries received from all over the country.
Also, near the center of Shibayama-gata Lagoon, there is a huge fountain that sends a 70-meter plume of water into the air. At night, the fountain is illuminated, creating a spectacular view.

A bike path circles around Shibayama-gata Lagoon. As you ride along the shore, you will come to the historic Kubiarai Pond, the Museum of Snow and Ice, coffee shops, and many other scenic and interesting spots.
